Now I want to upgrade RAM amount for better performance in my working.

Hi,
The maximum memory(RAM ) that is supported on this system is 8GB with DDR3 1066 MHz.
For further reference please refer to the link: http://dell.to/Rz1PPB
Please reply for further reference.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Jimmy,
The system board on this system model is designed to work on max memory (RAM) of 8GB, hence, if you try to upgrade any more hardware on it, it will damage the board.
Please reply for further assistance.
Thanks and Regards

Each slot supports up to 4G of RAM. 2X4 = 8 G max.
You need PC-3 1066 MHz or faster RAM

Hi Priyanka,
I'm so sorry to hear that because Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit support up to 192GB of RAM.
Is there something wrong here?
Are there any hack to upgrade to 2 slots x 8GB = 16GB of RAM

Hi,
I also have a question.
I'm also looking to upgrade my RAM to 8GB. Is it possbile to upgrade from the standard 1066mhz to either 1600mhz or 1333mhz?
Thankyou.

Hi Rousey82,
You can upgrade the memory of your computer to 1333 MHz or 1600 MHz but the computer would run memory only at the FSB of the motherboard (1066 Mhz).
Please reply for further clarifications.

Hi my friends,
So, should I install into 1 slot a RAM of 8GB (DELL INSPIRON 1564) . This mean I don't know what is the maximum of RAM amount supported on EACH SLOT!
In our area, I don't see any 1066Mhz RAM, if I use 1033Mhz RAM , what is effect to my PC?

Dear all,
I'm using DELL Inspiron 1564 Laptop with:
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1
- Motherboard Model 0M9XW4
- Chipset Intel Havendale/Clarkdale Host Bridge Rev. 12
- Southbridge HM55 Rev. 06
- BIOS Version A05 (02/09/2010) (factory default)
- 2 RAM slots with 2 RAM plugged, total amount of RAM is 3GB (2GB+1GB) (factory default)
I've read previous posts and I'm aware maximum ammount of RAM is 2x4 GB.
My question is related to the statement posted here, it states that Intel HM55 Express Chipset requires a specific configuration of memory chips on RAM module:
The problem is that the HM55 chipset does not recognize modules assembled with inserts RAM 512Mx8bits ... having your limit 256Mx8bits.
So make sure that the memory module that will buy your mount has taken 16 tablets 256Mx8bits, otherwise will not work.
I spent a little time so I bought Kingston memories of new models (2x4GB), mounted with 8 tablets 512Mx8bits (4096MB or 4GB) and I had to exchange for Patriot modules with 16 tablets 256Mx8bits.
For the same reason the notebooks that use the HM55 chipset has a maximum of 8GB memory = 2x ((256Mx8bits) x 16) = 2x 4Gb.
Is this true or false for my current configuration and BIOS version?
Does the chipset works with 2x4GB where each SO-DIMM module is constructed of 8x512MB and/or 4x1024MB?
I understand newer BIOS version is available for update (version A13, release date 06 Apr 2011), but I haven't made any BIOS updates simply because system is working optimal so far and I'm a "don't_fix_if_ain't_broken" person :-)
If, on the other hand, BIOS update is required for my laptop to work with total of 8GB RAM in configuration 2x4GB where each SO-DIMM is made of 8x512MB and/or 4x1024MB I'm willing to update BIOS to ver. A13, I just need your confirmation on this.
Thank you in advance for your help and reply.
Have a nice day.
Marko.
