DELL XPS 1640 best CPU upgrade
hello,
I have DELL XPS 1640:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53Ghz
RAM : 8GB
SSD 500GB
WIN 8.1 64 bit
Bios A15 version
I want to upgrade CPU into Intel® Core™2 Extreme Processor QX9300 (12M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) As I know this is the best CPU for
PM45 chipset
Question: It is possible to put QX9300 in this computer? As I know I need to buy power adapter 120-130w.
Is there any other issue to do this?
NOTE: I know that it is not new computer, but I'm not planning to buy a new computer, I just want to put BEST CPU on this computer

These never shipped with quad-core CPUs - so it's unlikely to even boot up with that CPU installed. Further, these systems had a bad tendency to overheat even with the stock CPUs, which were 25-35W processors. Putting a 45W CPU in a system not designed to handle the heat is a recipe for an unstable system - and may just push the now relatively aged mainboard over the edge into oblivion even if the system will boot with it.
