DVI not working when docked

Greetings,

I have a d620 running xp pro sp2 with the nVidia Quatro NV5 110M graphics card docked to d/port advanced port replicator. Now it will not work on the docking station's dvi connections. It used to work. The analog db15 connections work fine. I have removed the docking profile, tried both analog/digital external monitor options, verified the peripherals (docking/dvi/monitor) works by docking another d620 to it (this laptop uses the intel vid card). I even rolled back the system hoping whatever update was pushed out would disappear.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance...

I am a bit disappointed in this forum. This is a problem similar to mine and it is 707 days old without any response from anyone other than yourself.

If the answer were a needle in a hay stack - I would just sit down - I know I'd find it by my third re-seating of myself.

But there seems to be an issue with Dell supporting the D/Port Advanced Port Replicator (or even the D/Dock) and associated video issues. I am sure they are hoping that this will all go away when everybody refreshes their hardware for Windows7. But we may not refresh with Dell products if solutions are not readily found for such common issues.

To be fair, our issues may be related to Windows Updates, as everything had been working well for quite some time. But with four vendors involved, everybody has the opportunity to point to the other guys for fault.

I've got 17 D620's and 8 D630's and I have regular video issue with about 5 machines but only when they are docked.

They all have matched monitors, typically ViewSonic VA1912wb. But the DVI connected ones, intermittently drop dead after the windows login screen is being drawn.

So neither Dell, nVidia, Microsoft, and less likely, ViewSonic can resolve this issue so my users can get back to work with fully functional and stable monitors.

I guess I'll go back to Google, since the forum seems unresponsive.
