Run the Dell diagnostics (F12 at powerup) to find out where the fault is. If you see a fault from DIMM 1, swap the two and re-test. If the error follows the module, the module needs to be replaced. If it sticks to one of the two sockets with either module installed, the mainboard needs to be replaced.
