You may also try the steps mentioned below to fix the issue:

Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Mouse > UltraNav > Touchpad > Settings > Pointing > Sensitivity > PalmCheck > Set slider (0-7) to position 3.

Please let me know, if this helps.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

I installed the touch pad drivers, but I did not see a BIOS update (Vostro

3560)

I tried palm touch sensitivity, but that didn't help

Hi briglass,

Please find few more steps below to have the issue fixed.

Go to Start menu, Control panel and select Mouse. Once the Mouse settings open, select Dell touchpad and click on the touchpad picture. Select Touchpad speed and move the slider to maximum (Fast). You may also select Touchpad acceleration and move the slider to Maximum.

Once done, restart the system and check if the issue is fixed.

I hope this helps

Please reply in case of any queries

Hi,

I have tried all software controlled options and settings, but it doesn't help the situation. Yesterday, a Dell technician came to fix my touch pad and he said the OS may need to be re-installed. He seemed baffled by the problem. But, he's returning Monday because he needed a different part.

It really is an odd problem, do other Vostro laptops have this problem?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

Three technicians have come to visit me, and I am still having major issues and a bunch of minor issues continue to come up as I use the laptop more.

A courier is coming to pick up my laptop tomorrow, and they say they are going to try to repair it. However, I have come to the realization that I am not satisfied with this model of laptop and wish to return it for a different model, such as the XPS.

I would contact the Dell representatives who have been calling me, but every time they call their number comes up as Private or Unknown on my caller ID, so I don't know who to contact.

I received the laptop less than a month ago, and I would like to return it. What are my options?

Thanks,
Brian

Hello,

I am having a serious problem. The repair team took my laptop for repairs in early October via courier. I have not heard back from them. I had been in contact with "DELL-Vishal Sa", who told me on 19-Oct that they were going to replace my laptop instead of repair it. I have tried to contact him 3 times since then, but have not received a reply. I have not received a phone call from Dell. My laptop originally arrived 7-Sept, but with various problems. Three repair technicians have come to see me, all unable to address the problems. Now, it is November and I still do not have a usable laptop. At this point, I would like to request that my laptop is definitely replaced, and I think an upgrade is due for me at this point. I would like an XPS system, because the Vostro system I received clearly has issues. I ordered the laptop in AUGUST! It is now November. I would like an XPS system with equal or better specs than my original order -- to keep up with Moore's law, I think the specs should be 20% better than my original order.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for the update. I received a call from the repair center stating that they were trying to deliver the repair by courier, but I thought that I was due for a replacement?

Thanks,

Brian

I have received the new computer. However, the new computer has the same problem as before. It boggles my mind that this was not tested before it was sent to me, as I have re-described this problem so many times to so many different Dell reps, and I specifically asked them to verify that this problem was resolved before sending the laptop back to me.

Basically, this is entirely unacceptable as I now continue to go without a usable laptop. You're going to have to offer me something different, because I refuse to get another Vostro 3560.
