Dell 1558 needs upgrade...
Hello i have a older lap top dell studio 1558 intel i3 core. I upgraded to max ram and run linux on it. I want to upgrade my processor if i can. Any thoughts?

The use first-generation Core i CPUs - - yes, you can move to an i5, but if you have integrated video, you can't use any i7 quad cores (the quad core i7s have no video circuit onboard so they cannot be used on a system without a discrete GPU).
These were shipped with the i5-430m -- that one will work, but don't expect miracles - if it's still running a conventional hard drive, upgrading to a solid state drive will produce much more marked results than a CPU upgrade.

what kind of solid state drive is worth putting in something like what i have ?
how much compared to what my machine is worth ?
