Dell Inspirion 11-3000 No Boot Device

My daughter's laptop won't start, it says No Boot Device.  Anyone know how to fix this or is her laptop dead?  Was this caused by a virus?  Thank you!

Is windows 10 on the system ?

In the meantime, run diagnostic to check the hardware on system by following the steps below:

1. Power off system. Remove all peripherals ( except AC adapter)

2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F12 continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and then click on it.  After quick tests, click on Hard drive, and select Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.

Unplug the system and remove the base cover.  Disconnect the battery and hard drive.  Reconnect and try powering up again.

If you still can't see the drive, it's history - you'll need a new 2.5"  7 mm SATA notebook drive.
