Dell Inspiron 14R not switching on

My Dell Inspiron14R, which was in perfect condition suddenly switched off while  was using it.

When i tried to switch it on, the power button was lit for a second before it went off again. When I tried switching it on for 4-5 times continuously, the laptop started making beeping sounds.

I removed the battery, connected it to power supply with charger and tried to switch it on, but still the same problem.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? Any possible solutions?

Hello Mysore570008,

In order to assist you further, please help me understand the following details:

  • How many beeps did you hear when the system started beeping?
  • What is the color of the power LED?
  • Does the system power on only with the battery connected?
  • Did you try releasing the residual power from the computer?
  • If not, disconnect all the external peripherals from the computer including the battery and the ac adapter and release the residual power by pressing and holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds. Turn on the computer and check.

I'm having the same problem as well, I was watching videos on YouTube and then it instantly turned off and wouldn't turn back on. Please help!!!
