Dell Inspiron 1520 Line Out Port

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop.  Last night I had speakers plugged in to the Line-Out port on my laptop and everything worked fine.  When I plugged them in today, no sound was coming out of the speakers.  If I unplug the cable, the sound will come from the laptop's speakers.  At first I thought it was the speakers, but I tried another set of speakers and they didn't work either.  I tried doing a system restore back to yesterday, but that didn't work, which makes sense because the sound is still working on the laptop.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
