Dell Inspiron 17 5767 processor upgrade
Please Help - I want to upgrade a laptop that I have recently purchased to a quad core processor

If possible point me in the right direction for purchasing one compatible with this laptop!

Since the processor is soldered to the mainboard, the mainboard and CPU must be replaced together. Beyond being expensive (think $300-400 or more), this will also void your warranty.
It appears that even the i7 model in this line is a dual-core -- so there are no quad-core CPU/board combinations available. If you want the quad-core CPU, you'll need to look toward the Alienware or Precision systems.
