Dell Inspiron 6400 - Core2Duo processors?

Hello!

I have older Laptop Dell Inspiron 6400 with CoreDuo T2250 processor and I don't know if it supports Core2Duo processors or not? And if, which Core2Duo processors would fit in to?

Here are some information from CPU-Z:

Model No.: PP20L
Service Tag: <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>
Motherboard: 0XD720
Current CPU: Core Duo T2250
Socket: 479 mPGA
Chipset: Intel i945PM rev. 03
BIOS: A17

And here is full CPU-Z report:

Your chipset supports a number of Core 2 Duos:

Those are not all guaranteed to work in your computer, but they are a very good place to start.

The T7200, T7400 and T7600 (NOT the T7600G) should work.  Many others (the ones with odd numbers in the second digit or with a second digit of 7 or above) will not.

I apology for double account, but I'm heaving problems with password. I cant sign-in to first account, even if I change password I can't sign-in :emotion-42:, so maybe this is my last post, I can't create infinite e-mails ...

Used T5750 ( http://tinyurl.com/T5750 ) is best what I can get in our country at the moment. Would T5750 fit in to 479 mPGA socket? According to this site ( http://tinyurl.com/nsr77pn ) it has socket P. And T2250 is socket M/mPGA478MT ( http://tinyurl.com/yb94f78 ).

So why CPU-Z reports socket 479 if T2250 is 478? How do I know if 479 mPGA is socket P or M? I'm so confused now :emotion-42: ... Do I need to open laptop to see what type of socket is in there?

I can also buy Intel Core2Duo Mobile T5600 (mPGA478B). According to the seller Socket type is M and Package type is 478-pin micro-FCPGA. But it is mPGA478B and my system is mPGA479. Would this CPU fit in it or it is not compatible either?

Socket P and M are physically the same but electrically different.  Your system is socket M -- it will NOT take a socket P CPU.

That one should work as long as it's PGA (NOT BGA).
