Dell Inspiron 7348 2 in 1 laptop touchscreen not working- error code 45

Hello,

I have been having issues with my touchscreen. It was working just fine and then it wasn't. I have done everything I could possibly think of including

-restart the computer

- run troubleshoot on the laptop and through dell.com

- reset the computer with files

-reset the computer without files

-checked the BIOS

- reinstall/uninstall the touchscreen driver ( it does not automatically reinstall btw)

-update the driver: it was found that all drivers are up to date on my laptop

Under device manager, the HID compliant touchscreen is greyed out and there is an error code that says "

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

I have contacted dell technical support via phone and could not help me. I am a student who goes out of the United states for school. I was told to give them a call back once I was back into the states. I explained this does not help me as I am at school for another 3 months and I need this laptop for school. But all I got was a please call back.

So now I am unsure of what to do. Has anyone had this problem and was successfully able to fix it? Also I am running windows 10, but it came with the laptop.

Please help!

" To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

Lastly, if you're comfortable in opening the computer, I suggest you reconnect the display cable. Please enter your service tag number [Or click Detect Protect] onto link below.

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)"

Please remove all peripherals from computer - Wireless or wired mouse, Printer, Flash drive, External Drive, Cell phone, etc...). Please power off system, disconnect AC adapter, wait about 5 minutes, and then power on system again. Hopefully Touch screen is working now.

"Under device manager, the HID compliant touchscreen is greyed out "

:emotion-2:

Please expand HID Compliant touch screen again, click on 'Action' at the Device Manager taskbar and click Scan For Hardware Changes. If issue isn't fix, click on 'View' and then 'Show Hidden Devices'.

If the touch screen still isn't fix.....

Please go back to device manager, stroll down to Disk Drives and expand it. Under Disk Drives, right click the driver and then update it. Do the same for Display adapters or any Firmware as well. After you've updated drivers, power off the system. Power on system again, hopefully touch screen is working now.
