Dell Inspiron N4020
Hello All,
Someone I know gave me a Inspiron N4020 with a recovery disk they had made. They wanted me to wipe it out and reload it to factory install. I inserted the disk and booted off of it. The format process got to 49% and hung. Now I can't even boot into the system anymore and it seems this disk is corrupt or something. Anyone know where I could get a set of recovery disks? Did Dell make factory ones for this model or was it a model you had to burn your own?

The DVD has nothing to do with the hard drive formatting - run an extended test on the drive (including a surface scan) - you will find bad sectors. The drive will need to be replaced.

I should have said the CD seems corrupt. The hard drive is fine I believe as it was working fine before I attempted the reset.
