Dell Inspiron N5030 fails to start up

Hi,

I have just got my dell inspiron N5030 back from my university computer service because they fixed a problem with the screen.

Now, when I turn it on, it gets to the "starting windows" screen and goes black. This was not an issue at all before I gave it in. Could you advise me on how to fix this or what the problem might be?

Thank you,

Phoebe

Since you are able to get to the starting Windows screen, you will more than likely need to repair the start up file. Insert your Windows media and boot from it. Press F12 on the Dell logo to bring up the boot menu. Select boot from CD/DVD, or USB if you have a USB media key, and that will boot off the CD. From there you can click the "repair Windows" option in the lower left hand corner.
