Dell Laptop will not boot
Was doing an upgrade and lost power or connectivity during the upgrade
now my Laptop will not boot.
Is there a way to get back to a previous start-up and get it up so i am able
to use and redo the upgrades.

Looks like the partition is corrupted. I am afraid even a repair check will not work, the best we can suggest is reinstall windows afresh.

Thanks for writing to us.
Please brief us the symptoms. Does the screen goes blank post Dell logo?
During scenarios like this the files get corrupted causing a no boot and most of the time the only way out is to reinstall the windows afresh.
But, have you tried loading into safemode?
Await your response.

tried booting in the safe mode and of the three options one did nothing, the other two generated a stream of different text lines starting w/
multi(0)disk(0)risk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\System32\...etc.

Thanks for responding,
My computer goes past the Dell Logo then just never boots, no mouse,
I have opened the F2 and F12 options and have run the entire diagnostic
but still nothing after the Logo.
Am not sure how to load into safe mode!

Addition to my tale of woe,
Windows XP is not longer supported, my reinstallation cd will not fire automatically just gives a prompt, Dell Support refused to tell me how to get the disc to load... sent me to Pro-Support, they referred me back to Dell Support... yada yada,
Am sitting with the Reinstall disk loaded and have an F:\> prompt.... looks like i'm all dressed up with no where to go.... :(
