Dell Latitude C600 Power problem please help !!!!!

Hi my dell latitude c600, I have been using laptop downstairs on my knee, but suddenly low battery, indicator started showing, it just started to just drain power, I was able to wiggle  power supply connector cable and it would start to power battery, i was also wiggling into power jack socket. Then yesterday battery just went down to 0%, moving the cable doesnt work, now i cant get machine to power up at all.  I have plugged into wall socket, but nothing, laptop just dead.

I dont know if it is battery, power supply light is on, but nothing.

The battery is  P/N 75UYF  14.8v 3800mah 3.5A

I dont know whether or not to buy new battery, or compatible  66WHR, and it is 4460MAH. Rating is 14.8v. WIll this work ?

Any help or advice on this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nicky

Hi,

I doubt your problem is the battery. Take it out, if it doesnt work you may need a motherboard. If the lead on the adapter looks damaged, it may be the fault. If you look for a motherboard, keep in mind that there are many different ones, and some wont work with all the speeds of CPU that were fitted.

                                                                           Regards Chris

When I had nearly the same problem, it turned out to be the ac adaptor. E-bayed a new one, and now all is fine.
