Dell Max Audio toolbar not working
Hey guys,
I recently reformatted my Dell XPS L510X and the drivers and updates disc did not work so I have had to try and find everything manually, which doesn't help when Dell have a lot of dead links :(
My toolbar at the top of the page was not working and I don;t have a clue how to fix it, I read I need to install Dell Quickset and the Realtek Audio driver but In the compatibility area it doesn't say they support my L501X. However I did install them and now my toolbar still doesn't work.
Any help and links would be brilliant, thanks in advance.

Hi,
I suggest reinstalling the Realtek Audio driver. One thing to test is to look for the Realtek HD Audio Manager by clicking on Start>Control panel. If you are able to bring that up, look to see if Waves Maxxaudio is enabled. Installing Quickset is important as well.
You can also try reinstalling the audio driver and the quickset utility for Windows 7 64 bit from the links mentioned below.

Please reply if you have any further questions

Thanks to the both of you, I have installed both, do I need to do anything else, is Quickset some sort of applications or is it just a driver? Do i just leave quickset now?
I would also like to ask if there is a program that scans my laptop for other drivers I might need because the drivers and downloads section of the dell website didn't have any of the 2 links you guys sent me which makes me think I could be missing other imports stuff.
Thanks a lot.

The way I get drivers is to go to Product Selection page
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection
On the left you can put in your Service Tag number and see your drivers. That method is supposed to show you which drivers you need for your particular model and configuration.
I don't have (or want) your number so I select "Choose from a list of all Dell products" and follow the links to the L501x drivers and downloads page which is showing me 46 files. That is all the L501x files currently available, not just the ones for your particular L501x.
Something else you might be interested in is the order of driver installation after an operating system installation.
Dell Quickset is an application. It controls various configuration settings. It varies quite a bit depending on the model. I don't know the specifics for the L501x version.
