My experience with this is that Low Density PC2 6400 ram works fine with XP.
The ram must be low density (8 chips per side on the module) and PC6400 timing.
I tried several PC5300 ram modules that did not work at all.
This is for the INSPIRON 910 aka the MINI 9.

Does the RAM module have to be one 2gb piece? Or can two 1gb RAM modules be installed in the mini 9?
Also, if I were to install a 64 gb SSD, would I be able to install and use Windows XP Home with the new memory and SSD?

There is only one memory socket so it needs to be 2G module.

Yes, though you'll find 32G pretty small for a Windows install if you plan to have several applications installed as well.

Makes sense. What is the largest SSD the Mini 9 can support? I've read a few different things that said it can support up to a 120gb SSD.
