Dell N15 external display VGA connection problem
Hi
I have a dell n15 laptop with integrated Intel HD graphics and GF525M video cards on board. I also have Samsung SyncMaster 2253lw monitor and I've been trying to connect those 2 guys and I can't figure out what goes wrong. When I connect them the laptop sees the monitor, but the monitor doesn't show the picture. The only time it comes to life is when I reboot, showing "shut down" screen and windows booting screen. Then it goes blank again.
The display only has VGA and DVI ports, while laptop has HDMI and VGA so I guess the only option is connecting through VGA cable. I tried connecting 2 other laptops to this monitor and both worked fine and instantly. I also tried connecting my laptop to a different monitor using VGA and I get the same result (worked with HDMI cable btw).
It looks like this is some sort of driver issue or maybe 2 video cards/their drivers conflict...
Has anyone ever had such an issue? Any ideas?
Thanks
