Dell Precision 7510 not outputting via Display Port
Dell Precision 7510 is not outputting via Display Port when switchable graphics is disabled. HDMI does work.
External Display is U3417w and isn't even detected.
Ch king latest BIOS and drivers. Nvidia drivers are downloaded from Dell not Nvidia website.

Hi david74,
Does it work when switchable graphics is enabled?
Was it working before?
Please confirm the BIOS version

Dear Vijay, thanks for the reply.
The bios version is the latest one 1.12.4, 5/12/17
As far as I know this hasn't ever worked with switchable graphics disabled.
It works when enabled.
Blue screen is not normal normal for having a BIOS option disabled.
Thanks David

Hi David,
Kindly confirm the operating system installed.
Are you using any docking station?
And also downgrade the BIOS to 1.8.3 specifically and check if it works.

Hi Vijay
That's quite an ask rolling back 4 versions of BIOS ? What is the reasoning behind asking this ?
As you may gather I am a bit reluctant here since I need some of the fixes that have been delivered since 1.8.3 such as :
Fixed system restart issue when both Device Guard and Credential Guard enabled in Win10 enterprise.
I am not using a docking station and am running Windows 10

OK Vijay - I downgraded non the less to try and see if this works and it seems it does.
How come this is so and this is now working on a much older BIOS version. Can we expect another newer bios version with this working.
BTW I noticed today that a new version of BIOS 1.13.6 is released - might this work for this where version 1.12.4 had problems ?

- Fixed some system will hang up when Switchable Graphics Mode disabled .
- Fixed resume failure when system resume from sleep with TB16 dock connected and Switchable Graphics Mode disabled.
- Fixed system hang up when plug/un-plug adapter when disabled Switchable Graphics Mode.

Vijay, tried the latest BIOS and it bluescreened just like before. So rolled back to 1.8.3
It doesn't crash but the quality of the picture seems to be terrible. Very dark (low brightness and low contrast) . Low 3d Mark score of jsut around 1000 points when advertised score for M1000M card is around triple that value.

Hi David,
So the new BIOS version bluescreened the system?
Do you have the error with you?
Does the display works with older BIOS version?
Please private message the service tag by clicking on my DELL-username

Hi Vijay,
Yes - the new BIOS version bluescreened the system.
No I don't have the error with me. If I call it was the same as the one I was getting with the earlier BIOS version.
Does the display works with older BIOS version? Yes but the NVIDIA driver crashes sometimes.
Thanks
David

Good day,
I understand this is an older thread. However, I just had a colleague come my way who advised that simply running Dell Command Update resolved the issue with the display port not working when switchable graphics is disabled.
The customer in question also noted that the unit was running smoothly.
