Sorry EJN63,

I forgot to mention the obvious....its a T6400 CPU.

I have 2 OS in my comp...

1) Win Vista 64 Home Premium and

2) Win XP Pro 32 bit.

I used http://www.grc.com/securable.htm from both the OS and its strange that

a) In Win XP: It says Hardware Virtualization "LOCKED" and

b) In Win Vista: It says "NO".

Any thoughts?

Sunny

It is possible - with the right prerequisites.  Check the BIOS setup -- if you do not see the VT option, it means your CPU doesn't support VT and you'll need to upgrade it to one that does. If you don't see the option, post the model of the CPU (i.e., T7500, P8300, etc) and someone can tell you.

Your CPU does not support VT - to use it you'll need to upgrade to one that does.

Possibly - it doesn't require virtualization hardware in all cases.  In some, though it does.

My guess would be it'll be slower if you don't have VT support at the hardware level.
