Dell Studio 17 1747 touchpad scroll not responsive
Hi,
Just got a Dell Studio 17 1747, but I feel the two-finger touchpad scroll not responsive. Sometimes it scrolls, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to do it several times before it scrolls.
I've used Macbooks but never had this two finger scrolling issue.
I thought maybe it was a driver issue so went the Synaptics website but advised to go the manufacuter's website for most relevant drivers. But the Dell website don't have the Synpatics drivers for my laptop.
Could you please offer some advice?

I've had mine for about 3 weeks now , its doing about the same . I HATE the touchpad
on this laptop, you just barely touch it the wrong way and it zooms in or out ( screen )
and only scrolls when it feels like it . Its not scolling now as I try to use it ! DOAH !
Now my volume just went to max without me touching it . My media buttons are flashing
as if I'm pushing them , vol / back / forward / place / eject !!! It was a replacement
for the first bad 17n I received . This studio was a step up I guess , but it came refurb'd
and had many scratches and rub/wear marks on it but Dell did step up when I threaten
to send back both systems . They sent out a tech and he replaced the outer and keyboard
bezels and replaced the Dvd drive with the blu-ray it was supposed to come with . I noticed
a few days later the ram was the older 1067 and with just an email , Dell sent me the better
1333 within a few days .
I was very hesitant to take this Studio 1747 due to the fact it looked like it'd seen heavy usage
before I got it , but I like it so far and only miss the extra USB port and better led / lcd
screen the other 17n had plus it looked like new . Couldn't beat the price for either .

Yes , updated drivers , gone thru the software several times .
Touch pad is just not right , works great when it feels like it .
Now my media buttons are randomly flashing .............. waiting for
smoke to start coming out the back now !
