Hi DeepEvIL,

Welcome to the community.

In this case you can try upgrading the BIOS using the following link-

www.dell.com/.../inspiron-17

In case this does not work, try cleaning the fan vents and if it still heats up, heat sink/fan assembly would need to be replaced.

Let me know in case there are any other concerns. Glad to be of assistance.

Thanks & Regards

Hi DeepEvIL,

Welcome to the community.

Well, in case the system is out of warranty, you can contact Dell Spare parts department on 1-800-372-3355 and order the heat sink assembly. You can take help of the following links to replace it-

support.dell.com/.../fan.htm

support.dell.com/.../heatsink.htm

In case the system is under warranty, you can add me as a friend and provide the service tag number of the computer via a private message. After checking the service contracts, I will let you know the next course of action.

Let me know in case there are any other concerns. Glad to be of assistance.

Thanks & Regards
