Dell XPS 12 Burn in LCD screen

Recently I found that my XPS 12 screen leaves behind a ghost images when i flips between bright and dark screen. Found few postings online that says Dell offers free replacement for the screen even if the warranty has expired. please advise if this is true.

Hi MOXSHAX,

Thank you for writing to Dell Community Forum.

When you run the LCD BIST do you still get the ghost images?

Please private message us the service tag of the system along with your email id along with the picture of the issue.

(Note: please don't mention the service tag or email id on the public forum as it contains your personal information).

Dell replaced mine for £25. I had to make a quite a big fuss though. Support insisted it was not a known issue so I had to link to articles quoting senior Dell staff.

“This image retention does not affect the lifetime performance of the LCD display. Dell is replacing the displays for affected customers. That includes systems that are outside their warranty period”
