Dell XPS 17 L702x NOT CHARGING

Hi, I have a big problem with my laptop.

The battery won't charge, eventhough it is plugged in(the blue light from the ac adapter is on).
When I start Windows, in the lower right corner where the battery icon is, it says: "0% available, plugged in, not charging".

Laptop model: Dell xps 17 L702x

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.

Thanks,
Bepsy

Go into the BIOS setup (f2 at powerup) and check to see whether the AC adapter is listed as "unknown" or "not installed".  If it is, try a new Dell OEM AC adapter - if that doesn't solve the problem, replace the power jack inside the system - and if that doesn't solve it, replace the mainboard.

Dear  EJN63,

Thanks for the reply.

I've just checked the Bios setup and the Ac adapter is listed as UNKNOWN.
How can I replace the power jack?

Try a new Dell AC adapter first.  If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the jack:

Thank again for the reply!

I've tried a new ac adapter and it still doesn't charge the battery.
I was thinking about renewing my warranty and call Dell to solve my jack problem. Is this included in the warranty?
