Dell XPS M1330 Replacement Help

Hello.

I ordered a dell xps m1330 back in December of 2007.  Sometime last summer I went to send it in the mail and the post office broken the screen (crushed it a little).  I've gotten around to replace the screen but it seems the screen I ordered, and all the others I look at online, have less video connector pins in the back.  Mine seems to have about 32 and all the replacement screens I look at have 20.  What do I do?  Do I need an inverter cable?  I'm really confused about how to replace the lcd.  Any advice would help.

Thanks!

Do you have the LED backlight, or a conventional CCFL bulb backlight?  You need to replace the screen with the same type (ideally, the same model) you now have.

If you use a different model screen, you should always buy the data cable and inverter to go with it - these parts do not interchange between different manufacturers' screens, even on the same model notebook.  And the inverter, cable and casing that fits the LED backlit screen will not work with a CCFL screen.
