Dell d830 display problems

Question

Last few days i've soms problems with my Dell latitude d830. By normal working my screen Will be filled with blinking lines. The normal Windows screen wasn't see anymore. After à complete power off, also the startup screen from DELL wasn't displayed. But Windows was starting (i see the harddisk is working and also the startup tune from Windows was plating).I've start the laptop several times. And sometimes the laptop will start normally, but after some times the screen will be filled with blinking lines and otter times I didn't see anything. Can someone tell me what's going on? With kind regards Edwin Ps: the laptop is just out of service ;-) of course.

Most likely the video chip has failed - very common with this nVidia chip.  The mainboard needs to be replaced to solve the problem - if you do that, get an Intel board, not another nVidia.
