Dell drivers and utilities disk install error 1722

What a pain in the you know what. Why dose Dell put the driver on a disk that you can not just read what driver is what.

You would think that after you install an OS and need a bunch of drivers that this disk would work no.

I install W2K SP4 or W2K3 on my D620 and both times i can not use the dell drivers and utilities disk (2007) as i get an install error trying to install the disk in order to use the disk. Crock of xxx.

Dell doesn't support either Windows 2000 or Server 2003 on this model, so why on Earth would you expect it to supply drivers for either OS?

The driver CD is for the OS Dell supports - that is, Windows XP.

What

If you go to the dell download site you can download all the drivers and most all of them state Win 2000 and XP. I have installed all hardware drivers in win 2000 server from drivers i downloaded from the dell download site. But this driver disk they gave me is junk as it was no use.
Although you will not find any win2003 driver there it will install fine and most of the XP drivers work for the hardware missing drivers. only the audio and modem don't have drivers in win2003.

I am installing these OS on my work PC as i need to be able to run many version of my company software on the one PC i take everywhere.
