When you installed Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, then try using the Vista (or XP) 32-bit drivers, for Windows 7 32-bit of the Vista (or XP) 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit and install the drivers in the Compatibility mode
You can try installing the fingerprint software from the disk or try Authentec AES2810 (Fingerprint Reader W7 64-bit), which is DigitalPersona Personal.
Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back.
Did you get it to work? Did you use the disk or the drivers listed above?
DigitaPersona is no longer providing support for web logins using Mozilla Firefox 4.0 and Internet Explorer. If they work, they work and if they don't then you can use them. There might be some Mozilla Add-ins that work.
I have a Dell studio 1737 and the fingerprint scanner has been working fine. My laptop is set to receive updates automatically. I am still running Vista.
Now - my reader is not connected for some reason. The driver says it is up-to-date and working fine. How do I get the reader to connect again?

nlrobin,
Start, control panel, programs and features, DigitalPersona Fingerprint Soiftware, uninstall.
Restart your computer and manually log in using your password.
Try using Authentec AES2810 (Fingerprint Reader W7 64-bit) or the Fingerprint Software disk that came with your computer and install the software, again.
Restart your computer and it should work.
