Does Dell make any Cooling Fanless laptops?

I have a Toshiba, and the cooling fan is on/off every 7 secs. It is too annoying

and distracts me totally. Yes, tried music, etc, its just knowing that its blowing all the

time on/off... Does Dell make any cooling fanless laptops that have no repetitive

 Chinese torture patterns.

Sorry, I don't think a consumer laptop exists that does not have a cooling fan (maybe one of these all solid-state laptops fit the bill, but I have never even seen one of them, so I have no idea whether they have cooling fans or not).  I have a dell Vostro 1500 and the system is absolutely whisper-quiet even when the fan is working at full speed.  I can tell because it puts out a lot of hot air through the vents and I do a lot of heavy-duty video-editing on my computer, so the fan has to be on most of the time.  But the only indication of the fan being on is the volume of hot air coming out of the vents, no noise at all.

Fan behavior depends on the BIOS. On my D610, the fan was practically on all the time. On my D620, the fan is rarely on and the most of the noise produced by the machine is from the hard drive.

Look for a program that can control the fans based on temperature. I8kfangui is a program that many Dellites use. Most laptop built in fan control programs do not do a good job. If you have an Nvidia graphics adaptor, you can use RivaTuner.

If the fan is coming on high every few seconds, you may haver dustbummyitus. Try blowing out any dust from the CPU/GPU area.
