Ya its a laptop
Computer is: Dell Inspiron 1501 AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-55 OUW744 Dell Inc. Motherboard ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) Chipset 2 GB Ram This is all according to CPU-Z.

That is a Dell inspiron 1501 laptop, correct? If yes, I will move this to the Laptop General Hardware board.

Hi, Broke:
Check device manager. Do you see any question marks under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"? Do you see a "USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller?
That's two questions I need you to answer.

Ok, there is only one chipset driver, here. Install that, even if you previously installed it, then delete all of your USB controllers, hubs and devices, and reboot.
What you want to see is "enhanced".
