Dual monitor support?

Hey all,

Quick question: I have a Dell XPS L702 laptop and have a question about running the video out to another monitor. My laptop has an HDMI out-port, and the monitor in question is a Dell 2007WFPb widescreen monitor that has both DVI and VGA input.

The question is, is it possible to run the HDMI out to a either a DVI or VGA in? If so, is it possible to have both screens functional like a dual monitor setup on a desktop?

I apologize if this is a foolish question, I'm not the most techy person alive. I just don't want to have my nice PC monitor sit and go unused anymore.

Thanks for your help.

Hi tshanes,

Yes, you can connect the external monitor to the laptop. But you need a HDMI to DVI connector or HDMI to VGA converter cable to connect the laptop to the external monitor.

Please check this link to purchase the HDMI to VGA/DVI convertor cable; http://bit.ly/YMiBv7

Or you can purchase it at a nearby local electronics store at a cost effective price.

Check this link to setup external monitor with the laptop: http://dell.to/XoS1MS

Please reply for any further help.
