E-Legacy Extender Parallel Port ECP

I am trying to run a device that needs a parallel port in ECP mode.  Using the E-Legacy extender on a Dell Latitude E6540 Win 7, I have set the port to ECP mode in Bios.  But as I understand it, when I look at the port properties if it is properly configured it should have for resources 2 I/O ranges and a DMA address.  Instead I see only 1 I/O range.  Is this why my device won't work? Is there some way to configure the parallel port correctly to work with my device?
