E1505 FN-F8 display issue
I think I might be making too much of this issue but after thinking about it I decided to post this on the board and see if anyone else has experienced this or if I am just doing something wrong.
When attempting to play either a downloaded movie or Media player through my tv with an SVideo cable hitting FN F8 will result in getting the screen to come over the TV for about 2 seconds and then it will flip back to just displaying on the Laptop. It will do this several times. It will also not display on the laptop and the tv screen when I set it on that. It just flips to displaying on the tv or laptop automatically. I can usually get it to work after 1 or two minutes of fiddling with it and I have noticed that if I play something in Real player and then play something in Media player it will work then too. It usually needs me to do the real player thing before it will work in media player. The longer I have it hooked up the better it seems to work at switching the two displays but when it is first hooked up it takes about 1 to 2 minutes to work. I have tried shutting down the computer and restarting it hooked up to see if it reads the cables better but that does not seem to help much.
As I say, this is not an enormous deal because I can eventually get it to work but does anyone have any suggestions as to why it needs that 1 to 2 minutes before it will? Am I doing something wrong?
Marie

I had a similar problem with getting the display show on a projector and on my screen at the same time. This is not quite the same as the TV problem but try this:
Right click on a blank spot on your desktop and see if the context menu has a "graphic options" listed. If it does, try messing with these controls. Then try using Fn F8. Wait several seconds and see what happens. Try that key combo 2 more times, waiting several seconds each time.
You could also try right click on a blank spot on the desktop and click properties, settings and see what can happen there.
None of this may work, but it is late, I can't sleep so I thought I would give it a try!
