E6400-Processor Upgrade Options

Hi...

just a small question since i am bit confused with the greek dell support and several sites on internet.

I own a e6400 with p8600 (2,4 mhz) processor. My question is what are the available processor upgrade options?

My local support insists that the maximum processor is T9600 (2,8 mhz). Several forums over the web include T9900 at 3,06 mhz and the following dell page

http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/latit/en/Dell_Latitude_E6400_E6500_Spec_Sheet.pdf

tells me about T9900.

Thank you in advance ...

@Pnpa,

I pulled the below processors straight from Dell’s replacements parts database for the E6400. They will work with your system:

P8800, 2.66G, 3MB

T9900, 3.06G, 6MB

T9800 2.93G

T9400 2.53G

T9600 2.8G

T9550 2.66G

T9600 2.8G

P9500 2.53G

P9700 2.8G 6MB

@Stellarator

According to my parts database, the processor options for E6400 and E6500 are basically identical.

Please reply back with any further questions or feedback on this topic.

I have same problem. I want to find what fastest processor i can install on my E6500. but impossible to contact Dell support. I hope someone here that know what processor i shall choose. I have installed 8GB CL6 800MHz Memory and a SSD drive.

There are two faster processors in the same family - the P9600 and P9700 - you can use.  Neither is significantly faster than what you have but they're the only options - not long after the generation of CPUs you have now, the market shifted to the new Core architecture (which your system cannot take).
