E6410 Problem accessing rescue partician

I was using the fingerprint scanner but it now fails to initialize. Unfortunately, I forgot my password. Tried F8 on boot.. nothing & F12 to access rescue... Nothing. Any ideas? If I no other option and have to do a clean install of Windows 10 do I still need all the Dell drivers or some [If some, which ones?]  Thank you very much. Any help will be appreciated
