E6510 Latitiude - fan not working

Hi,

I have a problem with my Latitiude E6510. Yesterday I decided to add bluetooth module to my laptop, after that I noticed that fan is not spinning at all, even when I enter in to the BIOS. I think that is not OS problem. I made the test, after removed all RAM modules and tried to turn on my laptop, fan is spinnig full speed about 2-3 seconds. So I can be sure that fan is not broken and proper connected to mb.

What could be the problem?

Hi Tardo,

Thanks for writing to us.

Disconnect the bluetooth module and observe if its makes any difference in the fan functionality. Was it spinning all the time before making the hardware changes?

Without the memory modules is it spinning intermittently for 2-3 second or "only'' for 2-3 seconds and stops??

Please update the BIOS and observe the fan functionality again.

Regards

Right now fan is working fine, I don't know what is wrong.

Is there any software which can control fan speed?

I can't get hidden Thermal Control menu after typing Fn+Shift+15324 and Fn+r. I have installed A16 bios.

Hi There is no dedicated Dell software to check on the fan speed. Though you can try any reliable third party software for the same.
nice to know the fan is working fine now. Have a good one.
