If you haven't already I suggest running the on-board diagnostics (ePSA). Start the system tapping F12 and choose diagnostics, do you get any failures.
If you know did the system ship with Linux installed, and if not, what version of Windows was installed and did you notice the same behavior in Windows?
If the system didn't ship with Linux, have you tried restoring the original operating system, if there is a defect in the hardware there will be difficulties reinstalling, but if the install went smoothly and system performance is fine in Windows then you know it is a Linux issue.
Please let me know if the diagnostics pass or not and any include any errors you received if any.
I have run both the standard and extended diagnostics and nothing came back. I have also run a full memtest using mentest86+ with no reported issues. It shipped with Windows 7 and I never had the issue. Unfortunately I had to reinstall Windows 7 today until this gets resolved. For what its worth I did notice an issue with Linux and the card reader on every boot, basically mmc version number error if I remember. A little Googling lead me to a firmware issue with bios that was fixed in A16.
So diagnostics passed with no problems, is this correct? Did the system shut down running diagnostics? You reinstalled Windows 7 is this correct, and if so did the system give any errors or shut down while the reinstall was taking place? If you were able to install Windows 7 all the way through did it seem like any particular drivers caused any issues and if so what driver? If you were able to complete the reinstall and driver installation with no issues how long was the system able to go with no problems. What was the system doing when it finally did shut down?
Having a system shut down in two different operating systems does seem like defective hardware, but passing two sets of diagnostics and possibly going through an Windows installation with no problems says otherwise. So it may be a little tricky tracking down the cause of the problem any information that you can provide will help.
I will also be shooting you a private message in case a service may be required.
Initially diagnostics was completing with no issues. I just tried again and it failed 5 straight times. The diagnostics got through the video portion and s shut down a few minutes in.
Something interesting, I noticed the CPU thermistor reached 80c. Also the hard drive portion of the diag doesn't seen to complete, the icon status blue though subsequent tests are green and competed all tests complete Ecevit for hard drive and memory
I am checking on the status, if you where able to contact tech support on this issue and if so where they able to resolve the problem. I have sent a friend request so if you need help accept the request and message me and I will get your information and we can go from there.

Alright this is definitely a hardware issue. This morning the laptop shut off on me while running Windows 7.
