You can try downloading the Dell Feature Enhancement Pack, the E7450 isn't listed as compatible but it could still work. Once installed follow these steps:

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Depending on your setup;

a. If you have Category view selected choose Hardware and Sound then Dell Keyboard Backlight Settings and change the 'Turn off Backlight in' option to your desired setting. Click Apply.

b. If you have Icon view selected choose Dell Keyboard Backlight Settings and change the 'Turn off Backlight in' option to your desired setting. Click Apply.

The Backlight will then only go out depending on your setting

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your reply, that only adjusts the brightness and switches it on and off.

I want to change the timeout, currently if no key is pressed the backlight turns off after 10 seconds would like it on permanently.

Cheers

Hi,

It can be adjusted using the FN and F10 key (F10 should have a keyboard symbol with 5 lines coming off it to indicate lines of light).

This article shows all the keyboard shortcuts
