E7450 Keyboard timeout. How to change?

Hi! I desperately need to increase the timeout on the E7450 keyboard light. How can I do it? Windows 7 64 bit.

The Dell Feature Enhancements Pack does not work. It installs, it shows me the option, but as soon as I change any setting for the keyboard I get, instantly, a DLL error and that tie-in at the control panel fails.

Hi Delltastic,

The Dell Features Enhancement Pack is not recommended for this model, and may or may not work.

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Depending on your setup;

a. If you have Category view selected choose Hardware and Sound then Dell Keyboard Backlight Settings and change the 'Turn off Backlight in' option to your desired setting. Click Apply.

b. If you have Icon view selected choose Dell Keyboard Backlight Settings and change the 'Turn off Backlight in' option to your desired setting. Click Apply.

The Backlight will then only go out depending on your setting

Here is some information on how to manage thee keyboard backlight settings: http://dell.to/2kpKYlQ

Hi Robert, thanks for the idea. Unfortunately when I do that, any selection after apply immediately creates a "Windows Shell Common DLL has stopped working" error and nothing is changeable.

Delltastic,

That error is usually caused by a corrupted driver.  Since nothing is working, you may wish to reinstall your operating system using the restore media you created, load the chipset drivers first, then the other drivers.
