What do you mean by 'encode in windows media 9'?  Are you using windows media encoder or windows media player?  Or do you mean windows movie maker?  What exact software are you using and what are you trying to accomplish?

Googling for the error seems to indicate it is a directX error.  Do you have the latest version of DirectX installed on the computer?
