Error Code 2000-0511 (Processor Fan)

I received this error yesterday (2000-0511), validation code 82163.

My model is a Latitude, E5430

Is there a fix for this (software / bios) or is this strickly a hardware problem?

Thanks, Mike Bennett

Hi mbennett_1,

Please clean the air vents using the can of compressed air. In addition also update the BIOS using the link below.

http://dell.to/1eYcWuI

Connect the Ac Adapter before updating the BIOS and do not use the system until it restarts after the update. Once the BIOS is updated please run the hardware diagnostics follow the steps below.

Please shut down the computer press the Fn + power this will initiate the hardware diagnostics. Let us know if there is any error code listed.

I have the exact same problem.

error code: 2000-0511

validation 95419

msg: Fan - The processor Fan failed to respond correctly.

Here's what I did so far:

1. I updated the BIOS to the newest version

2. I used compressed air and cleaned out the Fan, and any other opening

3. When I ran the diagnostics before, it didn't detect any issues, but I just ran the diagnostics today and it keeps on coming up with this error message.

So what's the part number for the fan that I need to replace?  So I can buy another fan and replace it.

I tried to update the driver, but received this message:
"Cannot update a Latitude ES430 non-vPro with a BIOS for Latitude ES430 vPro"
Is there another BIOS update available?  Thanks.

I have the same error

"Error Code 2000-0511 (Processor Fan)"

But my laptop is brand new, just opened up today, and this error appeared when I turned it on. So it shoudl not need cleaning or updating.

Contact Dell to have the system replaced.  There's little sense repairing a brand new system that's defective out of the box.
