Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\NvCpl.dll

Question

On boot up I receive the above error message which is followed by the message: 'A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization failed'. The desktop image now resembles the view you get when booting up in 'safe mode' . I have tried to use System Restore, but to clear a virus I turned off System Restore and forgot to re-set the same. Therefore I cannot find a restore point which improves the situation. How do I resolve the DLL issue?

try uninstalling/reinstalling your video drivers!

Many thanks for the idea, I chose to download a new (updated) video driver and VBIOS update - Problem solved!
