Error Message: Display Driver Has Stopped Responding
3 week new XPS13. Sporadically receiving an error message:
Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
I have updated the latest BIOS and drivers that are available for my specific laptop, but the error still pops up, seemingly at random. Anyone else having this issue? Any fixes or suggestions? Thank you.

I have the same problem with my Inspiron 5559. It seems to be a common problem, related to the Intel driver, especially on 6th Generation processors.
See https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25620/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th-Gen-
There is an updated generic driver but it doesn't want to install on my laptop because the original driver may have been customised by Dell.
Come on Dell! Please customise and release the new driver as soon as possible!

My 5559 does the same thing. Good to know I've got company!

Just to show how much of a problem this is here is another 5559 with the same problem. Come on Dell this is a problem that needs sorting. On reviews for the 5559 I see some people have returned their laptops because of this fault.

I've got the same problem with an Inspiron 7559. Tried the same fixes as others with no results. Also the same issue in trying to update from Intel - the drivers are special mods by or for Dell. PLEASE DELL do something!

I found that the most recent video driver has cured the problem of the display driver crashing, which is a big improvement!

Thanks. I found the fact that they had an updated driver and installed it. No repeats so far. I just don't understand why when you run Dell diagnostics that it comes back and says everything is OK when they've got this updated driver for several months. I've had Dell computers for many years and I find their after sale help not nearly as good as it used to be. I shouldn't have to find problem solutions from a forum when I've tried to get answers from Dell.

Glad it seems to work for you. Yes, I found Dell very unresponsive- the phone support guy was quite unhelpful because I hadn't paid extra for software support and he tried to get me to pay!
