I've used Latitudes for years and they are very durable & reliable. I am currently trying to determine if there is an express card for my Latitude which can be used as an "air card".
You can buy SD/etc/ card readers that connect via USB for arounf $20, atleast owning something like this does then help not limit your choice's available on laptops.

Replying to myself here but it seems that most of the Latitude models (feb-2011) have ExpressCard slots, but not other series?
