External GPS Device

I have recently determined that the GPS device in my new laptop is in fact a Microsoft Simulated Driver and not a real GPS chipset.  What this means is that the GPS will only work while connected to the internet via Wi-Fi.

I have a Microsoft Windows 10 phone and it's MAP app works great for navigation but the screen is too small when I am driving my motor-home.

To get navigation to function fully on the Windows 10 MAP app I now find I need an External GPS device.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with and External (USB) GPS?
What brand and/or model is good?
