The PCs that detect the adapter as 240W are a Precision M6500 and Latitude E6500. I bought the adapter for use with the M6500, hoping that it will avoid blackouts, if 240W isn't enough for that computer.

I have validated the serial number provided and the AC adapter is genuine. However, it may be an issue with the system board or AC adapter.
