Fan runs constantly

Okay again I'm new here so I thought I'd ask this

My fan runs on the highest gear all the time from teh minute I turn it on. The computer is VERY warm so I think it is doing so appropriately. It's noisy and annoying.

Any help?

I have an i6000 and my fan runs continuously as well. However, it is not noisy and it does not get very warm. I had my laptop sitting on my bare legs for over an hour, never got very warm. What model do you have, how long have you had it, and how warm does it get?
