Fast Access - Facial recognization is a failure application with DELL-XPS-15 -

Fast Access - Facial recognition is a failure application with DELL-XPS-15

Recently i purchased DELL XPS 15 with the following configuration Os: XP professional.

The main issue with FAST ACCESS are:

1. Don't set automatic update.

2. If you use Fast access facial recognition, use without any update option and you cannot update.

Because in our system, we set the Automatic update option for FAST ACCESS.

Its started automatically updating by downloading the required files from their server.

But Installation is impossible. Because it will say YOU HAVE NO PERMISSION to install. Only ADMINISTRATOR account shall install.

The good joke is we have only one account in our LAPTOP, that is ADMIN account. No other user accounts.  We cannot re log admin account.

if you cancel the UPDATE INSTALLATION, then the total FAST ACCESS FACIAL RECOGNIZATION application will disappear from your LAPTOP.

So finally what?

We are restoring the backup from the BACKUP DEVICE.  After  restoring once more the FAST ACCESS will work, but you cannot UPDATE IT.

So people be aware of FAST  ACCESS facial recognition security in DELL.

If you find a best solution towards this issue, you can reply through this post thread.

Thanks in Advance.

Rajan

Hallo!

As you said, we gone to Sensible Vision Support . But the result is the same.

That is when you start to update FastAcces Facial recognition, it is doing the following activities.

1. Downloads required files from FastAccess server.

2. Removes the old FastAccess folders and files from the Programs of the System.

3. Then start to install the fresh FastAccess. It start to copy the downloaded files.

4. Before finalizing the installation it asks ADMIN PERMISSION, Actually we have already logged in ADMIN, and only as a ADMINISTRATOR only we are updating the FastAccess. But it asks for a Administrator login.

5. If you try to say YES, it says NO you have no permission to continue.

6. If you say NO, then all you NEW & OLD FastAccess application will be UNINSTALLED Automatically.

7. When you restart and wait for FastAccess, it wont be available. Then you have to login through password., and if you watch the FAST ACCESS program it wont be available in your system.

8. Though we tried to relog and to install there is no use.

So get once more the Fast Access you have to use RESTORE option from a OLD SYSTEM BACKUP. Then only you can find it in your system.

So we judge FASTACCESS facial recognition is not a perfect application for DELL XPS 15

Dell-xps-15-Rajan,

Using Internet Explorer, go to My Dell Downloads :: Login

Use the same email address and password you used here. Click on add system. You can download Fast Access from there. It should install with no problems.

Hello Rajan. If you could, please contact Sensible Vision tech support directly using any of the publicly available addresses on our website (I don't have any records that you've contacted us yet, but we would be happy to work with you). The error that you're seeing is known and easily fixed with a file that I can provide.

The other option is to try the update while in Face Login mode specifically. The error that you're seeing should only occur when both Skype and FastAccess are running and when FastAccess is either in User Switching or Continuous Security modes. If you've re-installed FastAccess from a backup then try setting Face Login mode and/or turning off Skype entirely and trying the update again. Of course if this doesn't work then please email or call us directly and we'd be more than happy to assist further. I look forward to working with you.

A few other points to make:

1. If you wish you can disable update alert messages. This will prevent you from seeing when future updates are available, but it's an option.

2. Skype is actually pre-installed on most Dell computers. I was somewhat incorrect previously when I stated that it needs to be running to encounter this conflict...it does not.

3. We have created a new version to address this error that will be publicly released soon. If you can contact me directly I would be happy to provide you with the release or another solution now. I apologize that I can't post email addresses or phone numbers in this forum (the post would be removed). All our contact information information is available on the Sensible Vision website.

Actually we are familiar with this error already and do not require screen shots of any kind. In fact the fixes that I can provide does NOT use the same update routines. Trust me...I've helped many people with this error already and I would be happy to help you as well. Please send me an email directly (addresses available on our website - sorry but I'm not permitted to post them here).

We are not using SKYPE in our system. We use YAHOO... even its only for TEXT not for video callings. We know well about SKYPE and its domination of registries in a system.

Actually i am anoid of FASTACCESS application.  Even if we contact Sensible Vision tech, the same routine is being pressurized to update.

So the only way is I HAVE TO PROVIDE SNAP SHOTS of this error.

Actually its our mistake that we have purchased DELL with FASTACCESS. Let me display the error snapshots in my next writting. Because if i start to update now, then i will loose several works in my desktop.

Additional inforamation:  I am a HARDWARE & NETWORKING Engg who scored DISTINCTION in my Education. We are PHP programmers too.  So we are already familier with SYSTEM ERRORS.

For your shake i will provide the snapshots within 24 hours.

After providing snapshots let me wait for the right solution from DELL FORUM.

If not we are ready to THROW OUT THIS IDIOTIC DELL LAPTOP.

Thanks for your Follow up.

"Sensible Visions" website that Dell customers must ask for support help from Dell.

Should we be surprised that Dell's first response is to provide run-around?

I've got error messages about "Fast Access" since receiving the machine.  After looking around for awhile, Dell support said that is the way "Fast Access" is supposed to act.

Certainly: it's intended to generate error messages.  When IE is loaded, "Fast Access" craches and generates an error message, and reloads IE with less than total success.

But all that is the problem of . . . anyone but Dell, even when in warranty.  Once warranty has run, and despite the fact that the problem wasn't addressed or resolved before the warranty ran, one must pay through the nose to Dell to doubtless get the same non-siupport as provided under warranty.

This is the last machine I buy from Dell: there is no support either under warranty or after warranty has run.  Instead, one is met with incompetence, run-arounds, excuses, and pretending a long-standing and miultiply reported problem doesn't exist.

Please contact Sensible Vision directly. Yes, Dell is supposed to provide the first line of support but of course if that's not working then we would be more than happy to assist. Certainly you should not be seeing error messages. Sensible Vision takes tech support quite seriously (as hope this post on a Sunday shows). Please write using any of the addresses on our website ("support at sensiblevision dot com" works well) and we'll respond quickly. Anything of value that we learn regarding your issue, we'd be happy to share back here on the forum.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Is it possible for someone to contact me regarding Fast Access on a Dell All-in-One? The facial recognition is on at start-up - despite never having been configured - and therefore we cannot logon to our desktop, i.e., can't bypass the facial recognition.  Suggestions?

Please contact us at the support email address from the Sensible Vision website and we'd be happy to help.

Generally speaking, FastAccess could not be enabled unless someone on your computer (and it could be anyone) specifically enabled it and completed the setup wizard. Once enabled, however, you can always login with just your standard Windows password by clicking "Cancel" on the FastAccess interface on the login screen and then logging into Windows normally. We keep this feature there specifically so that if video is unavailable for any reason that you can still get into your computer.
