Centrino is a big deal. Its where all of Intel's processors are going, and theres a reason. It's power usage is far less than any other Intel or AMD CPU.

I still would prefer my 8600 over this, due to the Ferrari 3000 not being widescreen.

Now if you are talking about the Acer Ferrari 3200 thats a whole different ball game - awesome laptop.

I changed my 8600 for a Acer Travelmate 8006lmi (2.0ghz Dothan, 128mb 9700 Radeon) - Hitting over 3500 3d marks and 26,000 aquamarks.  Very happy with it.....and it feels so much lighter than the 8600 6.5lbs.

Its a different story cause the spec of the Ferrari 3200 is way better than the outdated ferrari 3000.

Mobile Athlon 64 2800+ Processor.

Radeon 9700 128mb Graphics card.

The ferrari 3000 is old spec hence the price reductions the 3200 is replacing it.  I estimate that you will get about hald the performance from a 3000 against a 3200.
